EFAC stands for "Esterified Fatty Acid Complex" It works great on osteoarthritis and inflammation anywhere in the body. It does this without the stomach irritation of NSAIDs.
IP6 has been shown to have many anti-cancer attributes. It is found in legumes, wheat bran, and grains. In pill form, certain enzymes are absent which allow better IP6 survival in the digestive tract.
L-Arginine/Orhinine relaxes the blood vessels, and improves the linings of your arteries. Anyone with heart issues should consider trying one a day.
Food Science DMG can clear out chronic epstein barr virus infections, (mononucleosis.) It can help ward off a cold when taken at first signs. It is an immune system stimulant, increasing the presence of white blood cells.
5-HTP is a powerful serotonin precurser, (building block.) It has a natural anti-depressant effect.
From Harvard comes a nice synopsis of low level laser therapy, (LLLT.) It is interesting to see the graphs which show how the response of tissues to LLLT continue to vary according to how long and how powerful of a dose is given. As with drugs and other treatments, there is a point of diminishing return, and the positive tissue response actually decreases with dosages above a threshold.
There is a lot of variety of dosages covered, giving pause to all who use LLLT in their offices.
I was gratified to see that the low dosages I recommend in my book “Rejuvenation” were backed up in parts of this research paper:
You know, it seems incredible that as we face an outbreak of H1N1 virus across the country, we have taken one of the most effective over-the-counter virus suppressants ever developed off the market. This was done because a number of people reported a loss of smell. This was extrapolated into a high danger of not smelling leaking gas. It was taken off the market a few months ago. I wonder how those who lost their sense of smell are doing now?
Why am I writing this now? Because I have just opened my last bottle of Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel. Gee, I loved this product. I’m sure going to miss it. Sure, they still have the other cold remedy products, but that zinc taste gets old real fast. The bottom line is that zinc prevents the replication of viruses. I believe that Zicam zinc delivery systems seem to work better than the other products/lozenges which use zinc. Of course, it has been years since I have used something other than Zicam. 20 years ago, zinc lozenges weren’t as reliable, but I don’t know why.
Thank goodness that so far most of those who have been struck with the H1N1 virus have done reasonably well. However, at the time of the recall, we did not know that for sure. In the beginning of all this, there were those who feared that the effect of swine flu would be devastating to a recovering economy.
Why not place these nasal gel products under an M.D.’s prescription, and he/she could monitor the patient’s sense of smell?
No more diabetic neuropathy? Well, if all cases were treated with coherent light early enough, that statement may become a reality. No more diabetic amputations? Why not? It is being done all over the world, but in isolated areas. There is a physical therapy clinic in West Virginia that has a steady stream of patients sent by doctors who have been educated about this way of treating diabetic patients.
With over three decades of research and thousands of published research papers, (with the numbers growing exponentially,) coherent light therapy, (also known as low level laser therapy, low intensity laser therapy, photodynamic therapy, LLLT, LILT, and cold laser therapy) has been shown to be safe and effective when properly used.
While there are some research papers which do not come up with significant results, this always seems to happen, no matter whether a method is useful or not. I say it is safe to try for yourself, if you follow some direction. Then you can decide for yourself, while the scientists debate. There is little debate about safety, because it has largely been proven over the past 30 years.
The laser book titled “Rejuvenation” covers over 40 common ailments and diseases, and shows an ordinary person how to use a common red laser pointer, the kind kids buy, to treat many conditions at home, from diabetic numb feet to tooth and gum complaints.

There is a very nice article which puts together a number of studies which together clearly show that low level laser therapy can help with nerve regeneration and muscle preservation in nerve injury, including complete transection:
A trigger point is a tiny bit of muscle tissue that has died and is rotting, (in easy to understand terms.) Because it is irritating to the surrounding muscle cells, they spasm locally, and keep the gunk trapped there. It died for the same reason part of the heart dies in a heart attack: lack of oxygen. It suffocated.
An interesting sign of a “full-blown” trigger point is that not only does it hurt a lot when pressing a finger into it, it also sends pain to seemingly unrelated parts of the body. A great example of this is with a trigger point in the infraspinatus muscle. Say what? Well, it is the muscle that coats the bottom 70% of your “wing-bone”, your scapula. The scapula is a reliable place to find trigger points. It makes sense…it can’t really contract very well because it is “glued” to that bony plate we call the scapula. So the circulation there is bad, to begin with. A perfect breeding ground for trigger points.
If you “squish” a trigger point in the infraspinatus muscle, you will often cause pain radiation up into the shoulder, or down the arm. The thing is, there are no nerves connecting these areas, and so there never was an answer until recently. Some folks speculate that these unrelated tissues are indeed related from embryonic times. As the tissues separated to form the body, they still carry some connection, so that a person will feel pain that seems to refer far away from the trigger point.
Low level laser therapy, (photodynamic therapy,) has a remarkable effect on trigger points, however, I believe they still need to be deeply massaged at least once, to help clear out the dead cells, and the irrititating chemicals they catabolize, (degrade, breakdown,) into.
It starts with the idea of “core exercises“. Core exercises work on your abdomen, particularly the lower abs, and also should include all the muscles; front, back, and side, at the level of the lower abdomen. These type of exercises significantly help stabilize the low back, and have many other benefits.
Since many people don’t do these, unless forced by recent pain, I came up with some isometrics that can be done anytime in the day, as often as you remember. I supply a wrist band to my patients, (and myself,) which reminds me throughout the day to do the isometrics.
This isometric exercise has two parts, which you do at the same time, (sort of…)
First, we start with the “Deer Exercise“. This goes back over 2000 years in Chinese medicine. It is said it leads to a long life. It is basically the same thing as the Kegel Exercise given to people, (mostly women,) who have urinary incontinence. The simplest way to say it is you use your perineal muscles, (the muscles in your crotch,) to tighten as if you are trying to stop your urine flow mid-stream. This is an important exercise for a long life because it tightens the muscle layer that forms a sort of “wagon-wheel trampoline”, in the bottom of the pelvic bowl. This is the area that is large enough to pass a baby through, and men have the same opening, only a bit smaller. When we age, gravity pulls all those heavy organs down, down, down, into the pelvic bowl, and that trampoline “sags”, causing problems. This exercise lifts all that, and keeps the perineal muscles toned.
Secondly, we tighten the lower abdominal muscles and hold all of that, for as long as we can remember. (For me, that’s a minute or two at best, because I’m usually busy doing something.)
If you only tighten the lower abdominal muscles, over and over, you are pushing whatever is below them downwards. That’s bad because it can cause hemorrhoids.
So, always start with the Deer Exercise, and while holding it, follow a moment later by the lower abdominal tightening, and hold both for as long as you like. I have been doing this for at least 3 years, and I believe I look better because of it. I don’t have a problem with low back pain myself, but my patients have told me it helps, as well as others with no treatment at all.
“Palomar Medical Technologies Inc. a maker of laser based cosmetic treatments, has received a 510(k) over-the-counter clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a new home-use laser device for the treatment of eye wrinkles.”
All I can say about this is what I heard from a doctor on a television interview regarding this new device. It apparently has a number of 5 mW red lasers in it, similar to laser pointers you can get at Office Depot. The doctor being interviewed stated that a person must use this device 3 times a day, thirty minutes per session, for a few months to see a difference. I must say I am not impressed.
I built a device with multiple 5 mW red lasers, and gave it to my mother for muscle aches and such. She tried it on her wrinkles, and it irritated the skin around her eyes. I am sure it is not identical to the one passed by the FDA, but it probably is not much different.
There are so many uses for low level laser therapy, but it costs a lot of money to prove a company’s claims to the FDA.
That is the reason for the do-it-yourself laser book: Rejuvenation.
NeuroThera(R) is what was used in a study of Transcranial Laser Therapy. As far as I can tell from the patent, they use a 100 mw unfocused coherent light. Since the patent is going to be as broad as possible, I did not see reference to wavelengths chosen, or whether it is pulsed or not. Although a 100 mw red laser will penetrate up to 2 inches, much of the coherence of the light is lost, and my take on this is that the blood is treated, stimulated, and carries bio-stimulating effects to the surrounding tissues. If that is the case, then a standard 5 mw red laser pointer from Office Depot may work almost as well, for this and many other conditions. It is a matter of the math. It just takes longer to deliver the same amount of energy. While it would be foolish to try this during an acute stroke event, some may want to try it afterwards, when stable. This would be considered as a high unknown risk.
A New Treatment for Stroke is Showing Promise
Here are a couple of excerpts of a press release about clinical trials of putting the unfocused laser against the skin of the skull, illuminating the brain within 24 hours of a stroke, and continuing such treatment for a period of less than 3 months.
“TLT is one of the most promising new therapies that we’ve seen in a long time, especially as it may expand the treatment window for ischemic stroke to 24 hours. We look forward to commencing NEST-3 to further investigate TLT,” stated Professor Werner Hacke, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman of Neurology at the University of Heidelberg, who will join Professor Zivin as Co-Chairman of the NEST-3 Steering Committee.
A post-hoc analysis of 434 patients who suffered moderate to moderately severe strokes showed a favorable outcome in 51.6% of patients in the TLT group compared to 41.9% of patients in the sham group. This 9.7% treatment effect was statistically significant (p-value 0.044).
Although one should never ignore any infection, and should consult with their doctor, there is something you can do for yourself.
This is a remedy that goes back a couple of thousand years in Chinese Medicine, and about 200 years in American Folk medicine.
Before bed, take a large glass of water, add 1 tablespoon of any distilled vinegar, hold your nose if you have to, and drink it down.
Before bed. Large glass of water. 1 tablespoon vinegar.
Do this each night, for at least 4 nights, and continue after symptoms disappear for another week at least.
Chinese medicine says that the kidneys go through a cleansing cycle in the middle of our sleep. It is said that the vinegar water has an astringent affect on the “plumbing” of the urinary tract.
One common cause of chronic urinary tract infections, (and prostatitis,) is that mucus collects at the inside bottom of the bladder. It is a good environment for bacteria.
One way to say it is that if you have a dump that attracts rats, you can put rat poison there, but the rats come back when the poison is gone. So it may be with antibiotics and chronic re-currant bladder infections. The “dump” is the junk settled at the bottom of bladder. Clean it with vinegar water. Keep after it early with any re-occurrence. You will see that the frequency of infections decreases over time.
In Chapter 5 of the laser book Rejuvenation, I refer to a “systemic effect” regarding rheumatoid arthritis. In other words, simply by treating some joints, all the joints have a positive response in the patient with rheumatoid arthritis. I believe that this is because of the positive bio-stimulating effects of coherent
light on the blood and the tissues it supplies. See the specific chapters on the joints you want to treat if they are available in the book. For example, if you are going to treat the shoulder, please review Chapter 7. If you have any wrist or forearm problems, you should read Chapter 11.
If you have rheumatoid arthritis, I probably have the first good news you have had in some time: You are luckier than those people with plain old osteoarthritis are. Don’t believe me? Well, all you need to do is get a laser pointer and prove me wrong.
The reason you are luckier is that coherent light does very little for osteoarthritis (simple wear-and-tear arthritis.) In fact, the coherent light will typically aggravate that condition, with little, if any, benefit later.
You, on the other hand, will experience quite the opposite. You will experience more mobility right away. You will have a lessening of bad days and an increase in good days. Most of you will continue to improve over a month or two and will achieve a level of painlessness that you had given up on long ago. It is significant and very important to stress that this is not like using drugs. This requires less and less treatment as you improve, as little as one self-treatment every 6 weeks.
How many tons of prednisone are bought and sold throughout the world for this condition? What about side effects? Well, synthetic cortisone was just discovered when President Kennedy was president. He started as a skinny kid. He had a bad back. He was taking who knows how much “prednisone”? Think about the later photos, the ones where he looks like a chipmunk. That’s the corticosteroid effect. If he had lived long enough, continuing with the probable high doses for 10 years or more, he would likely have had to face severe osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, a suppressed immune system, and organ damage.
Medicine has known about this for some time now, and give much smaller doses for chronic cases these days.

The researchers threw this out because although 72% of the patients reported significant pain relief, the untreated hand got better as well, so they thought it was “all in their heads”, (my quotes.) Didn’t they read the literature that shows that in rheumatoid arthritis we get a systemic effect?) It’s almost as if someone wanted it to be negative.
